Privacy Policy

The short version: We collect the email and name you sign up with, the questions you ask, and what you save — so the app works and remembers your history. Your questions are sent to our AI provider to generate an answer. We don't sell your data or run ad trackers. Email us anytime to see or delete your data.

This policy explains what LandCode, LLC ("we," "us") collects when you use the app at landcode.app, and how we use it.

LandCode, LLC is a Wyoming limited liability company operating from Tennessee, USA.

1. What we collect

Account information — your email address, your name (if you provide it), and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store your password in plain text.
What you create — the questions you ask, your Ask history, items you save to your Notebook, and any project or job-site details you enter (such as an address you look up).
Basic technical data — the IP address at sign-up, and usage records (which model answered, retry count, and an estimated cost) that let us monitor the service and its running costs.
Essential cookies — a secure, http-only sign-in cookie and a small cookie that remembers your current project. Your theme choice is stored in your browser only. We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

2. How we use it

to provide the service and generate cited answers;
to save your Ask history and Notebook so they're there when you return;
to secure your account and prevent abuse;
to monitor usage and cost during the beta; and
to fix problems and improve LandCode.

3. Service providers we share data with

We don't sell your personal data. We use a few trusted providers to run the app, and share only what each needs:

Anthropic — your question text is sent to Anthropic's Claude models to generate an answer. This is core to how LandCode works.
Railway — hosts the app and the database where your account and content are stored.
Mapbox — when you search an address or use the map, the address or location is sent to Mapbox to find it.
Resend — if you use an emailed login code, your email address is used to send it.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or security of LandCode and its users.

4. Data retention

We keep your account and content while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time (see below), and we'll remove it except where we must keep something to meet a legal obligation.

5. Your choices

Email nathan@landcode.co to see, correct, export, or delete your personal data, or to close your account. Because this is a small beta, we handle these requests by email.

6. Security

We serve the app over HTTPS, hash passwords, and limit access to your data. No online service can be perfectly secure, though — and LandCode is a beta — so please use a unique password and tell us if anything looks wrong.

7. Children

LandCode is a professional tool intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product develops; we'll change the date above when we do.
