Article 7 — State Minimum Standard Construction Codes
Standard Codes.
It is the desire of The City of Lawrenceville to adopt, in all respects, the various Standard Codes relating to amusement devised, building, fire prevention, gas, grading, housing, mechanical, plumbing and swimming pools.
The adoption of these Codes is done to facilitate proper inspection activities by the City of Lawrenceville, Gwinnett County, Georgia relating to construction and to maintenance of buildings within the corporate limits of said town and relating to public safety, health and general welfare.
The following Codes are hereby adopted by reference as though they were copied herein fully:
International Building Code - 2012 Edition International Fuel Gas Code - 2012 Edition International Mechanical Code - 2012 Edition International Plumbing Code - 2012 Edition National Electric Code - 2014 Edition International Fire Code - 2012 Edition International Energy Conservation Code - 2012 Edition International Residential Code - 2012 Edition International Existing Building Code - 2012 Edition Standard Swimming Pool Code - 2012 Edition International Property Maintenance Code - 2012 Edition These Code sections are hereby adopted by The City of Lawrenceville in the form with the Georgia amendments attached.
Repeal of Ordinances Inconsistent with Model Code
Any matters in said Codes which are contrary to existing Ordinances of the City, shall prevail and any previously adopted standard codes are hereby repealed and, to the extent any existing Ordinances to the contrary are hereby repealed in that respect only.
Designated Enforcement Officers
Within said Codes when reference is made to the duties of certain officials named therein that designated official of the City of Lawrenceville, Gwinnett County, Georgia who has duties corresponding to those of the named official in said Code shall be deemed to be the reasonable official insofar as enforcing the provisions of said Code are concerned.
Effective Date of State Minimum Standard Construction Code
This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage, the public welfare requiring it.
Penalties
Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of the various standard codes as set out above or fail to comply therewith or who shall violate or fail to comply with any order made thereunder, shall, for each such failure or violation or non-compliance be punished by a fine not to exceed $500.00 and costs, or by imprisonment not to exceed six months, or both, any and all of such penalties to be imposed in the discretion of the Judge of the Recorders Court of the City of Lawrenceville.
More Stringent Standard Prevails
All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed except that to the extent that the current provisions of the Code of the City of Lawrenceville provide requirements that are more stringent than the model code requirements, the stricter provisions shall apply.

Public Swimming Pool Regulations
The Gwinnett County Health Code, a copy of which is attached hereto as Attachment “3” and incorporated herein by reference, is hereby adopted by reference and codified as Chapter 7-109A of the City of Lawrenceville code of Ordinances. Violations of the ordinance within the City Limits shall be returned to the Lawrenceville Municipal Court for trial.
On-Site Sewage Management Systems Rules and Regulations
The Gwinnett County Health Code, a copy of which is attached hereto as Attachment “4” and incorporated herein by reference, is hereby adopted by reference and codified as Chapter 7-110 of the City of Lawrenceville Code of Ordinances. Citations for violations of the ordinance within the City Limits shall be issued by agents of Gwinnett County, agents of the City of Lawrenceville or Gwinnett County Board of Health and returned to the Lawrenceville Municipal Court for trial. Any provision contained in the model ordinance to the contrary with regard to jurisdiction and enforcement is hereby deleted. All provisions contained in the current 7-110 inconsistent with the rules and regulations as expressed in Attachment “4” is hereby deleted.
On-Site Sewage Management Systems Contractors Rules and Regulations
The Gwinnett County Health Code, a copy of which is attached hereto as Attachment “4” and incorporated herein by reference, is hereby adopted by reference and codified as Chapter 7-111 of the City of Lawrenceville Code of Ordinances. Violations of the ordinance within the City Limits shall be returned to the Lawrenceville Municipal Court for trial.
Tourist Accommodations
The Gwinnett County Health Code, a copy of which is attached hereto as Attachment “6” and incorporated herein by reference regarding tourist accommodations is hereby adopted by reference and codified as Chapter 7-112 of the City of Lawrenceville Code of Ordinances. Citations for violations of this ordinance within the city limits shall be issued by agents of the City of Lawrenceville, Gwinnett County, or the Gwinnett County Board of Health and returned to the City of Lawrenceville Municipal Court for trial. Any provisions contained in the current Section 7-112 Tourist Court Rules and Regulations inconsistent with the provisions of Attachment “6” attached hereto and incorporated herein are hereby deleted.

Food Service Rules and Regulations
The Gwinnett County Health Code, a copy of which is attached hereto as Attachment “5” and incorporated herein by reference is hereby adopted by reference and codified as Chapter 7-113 of the City of Lawrenceville code of Ordinances. Citations for violations of the ordinance within the city limits shall be issued by the agents of the City of Lawrenceville, Gwinnett County or the Gwinnett County Board of Health and returned to the City of Lawrenceville Municipal Court for trial. Any provisions contained in the current Code Section 7-113 Food Service Rules and Regulations inconsistent with the provisions of Attachment “5” are hereby deleted.
Vector Control
The Gwinnett County Health Code, a copy of which is attached hereto as Attachment “7” and incorporated herein by reference is hereby adopted by reference and codified as Chapter 7-114 of the City of Lawrenceville Code of Ordinances. Citations for violations of the Vector Control Ordinance within the city limits shall be issued by agents by the City of Lawrenceville, Gwinnett County or the Gwinnett County Board of Health and returned to the City of Lawrenceville Municipal Court for trial.
