Purpose and Intent

The Light Industrial (L-I) District is intended to provide areas where light manufacturing uses may be located. The industries located in this district are characterized as lower in intensity, cleaner, and generally more compatible when located adjacent to residential or commercial areas than heavy industrial uses. Such industries are capable of operation in a manner which controls the external effects of the manufacturing process through prevention or other mitigation measures. Industrial activities are typically conducted indoors, though limited outdoor activity may occur.
